RMP OnDemand: Online Training for California

As I’m sure you know, RMP classes are a lot of fun to attend — and you learn so much. But what if it’s difficult to attend? The California RMP Team developed an online training solution — RMP OnDemand — which is perfect if you don’t have time to leave work or live farther away from where classes are offered. In addition, if you learn better with an online format rather than in a classroom, it’s a great way to get the training that you need to really thrive at your dealership.

Launched in 2016, California’s RMP OnDemand currently offers two online courses:

  • Fundamentals of Registration and Title Processing (OD1) combines materials from the REG 101 and 201 classroom courses, and is perfect for title clerks with less than 6 months experience.
  • Specialized Transaction Processing (OD2) presents material from the REG 301 course, giving more experienced title clerks targeted knowledge to handle many out-of-the-ordinary transactions.

Each course is narrated and features details on completing forms while covering the various policies and procedures of the California DMV. The material is broken into smaller sections, with hands-on reinforcement exercises such as drag-and-drop and matching. You can take a break at any time and RMP OnDemand will return you to the same place when you’re ready to start again. At the end of each course is a multiple choice assessment that helps you target the areas that may need more study. Bonus materials are also available to print out for each course.

You can even earn a certificate when you complete an RMP OnDemand course, which shows how much you’ve learned. In addition, if you enroll in a California REG 101, 201 or 301 classroom course, you automatically get access to RMP OnDemand to review and reinforce your learning when you return home.

The future of RMP OnDemand is exciting — plans to expand with new courses in California and make RMP OnDemand available to other states are already in the works. For more details on RMP OnDemand, visit
